I have a serious issue...

One that I am sure many other people can relate to - and that is comparing...

I compare myself to others all the time. 

I compare my body to others. I compare my face and makeup to others. My clothes. My car. My home. 
I compare my art and my writing...
That's one that is really affecting me lately. 

I was able to find something - for the first time in such a long time - that gave me catharsis. 
Something that I am constantly thinking of on a day to day basis, something that I put off sleep for in case my mind comes up with something brilliant. It has been exciting, and scary, and overall a lot of freakin' fun. 
But then instagram got in the way...
Instagram is trying to destroy it...
And I honestly feel like I'm in a honey trap. 
Like, I can't seem to get out of this...it's insane to me how one can love and hate something so much.
I love that I have a platform to share my art...I hate how when I compare my page to others no one is connecting with what it is that I am writing...
I love how my page looks, how unique it is and how ME it is...
I hate how my page looks, how ME it is...how no one seems to like "me". 

I started writing this almost a week ago...and when I woke up this morning I realized that my constantly instagram checking is not helping my mental health - it's not adding to my life. It's hindering it. So I think I'm going to take a bit of a break in the insta-world.
Perhaps I will just continue posting here...post some of my poetry...post my art. And go from there.
