Where did the weekend go?
It seriously flew by. But don't they always?
Sometimes they are a disappointment, but I won't delve into that. This weekend was a rather quiet one but a few things did get done around the apartment which was nice. This coming weekend should be a lot busier, which will make it go by even faster!
Anyways, I did want to say that the recipe that's in the previous post is - quite frankly - delicious. I did try it and it was YUMMY. I didn't use the orrechiette, as for some reason the Zehr's in my area didn't carry it - what?? Well, it did, but for a small box they wanted $5. Seriously. So I used fusili. Just as good.
It was just so flavourful, I definitely recommend you guys give the recipe a try.

So, even though it's technically not Monday, it is...
Well, the feeling...
Blah day!
Is it time to go home yet?

::chic:at:the:beach::

I am not entirely sure why it doesn't seem like we are "settled" into our new apartment yet. I guess it is because there is still lots to do. We still have some very small things left at the house {we need to find storage for, a friend may help with this} and Travis is helping with renovating the basement at his Mom's. Everyone is just so busy and it's so scattered that it just doesn't feel 'established'. I hope that makes some sort of sense. It will be some time before it does though, as his Mom and Sister still have to move, so everyone is going to be really busy for the next month or so.
On another note, his Sister did just have a baby; Nicole. She is so sweet and little and a cuddler from what I seen yesterday.
Babies seem so peaceful...I know, I know. Until they start screaming their heads off. :P But Nicole seems to calm. She is very sweet.

This weekend will be a busy one, once again with running errands, groceries, the Poochie Power Walk that is on Sunday for the SPCA and Cambridge Humane Society.
I also am going to start my new healthy living challenge...I really shouldn't call it a 'challenge' as much as it has to really become a lifestyle change. I am studying holistic nutrition and half the time am not following what I am reading, or my own advice. If I start doing that, then maybe more people will take me seriously.

I am also on the third book of Game of Thrones. Need to just get through them before moving on to the fourth one so that I am not lost. For example, Jojen and Meera Reed came into the second book, not halfway through the third like the show has led us to believe. Lot's more details though, but I love reading so this is obviously a treat for me. ;)

Anyways, that is enough rambling for me.
Here is an editorial and be sure to check out the next post I have for "In The Kitchen...".

::pale:love::

I planned on doing something this May 2-4 weekend {for those of you that don't know, May 2-4 is a long weekend in Canada - Victoria Day - don't ask me what it is about exactly because I don't know...so google it. Or rather, here is a link. ;)}. Anyways, I planned on doing something this long weekend but there has been way too much going on the past few months that nothing concrete was planned. Of course I had initially planned on booking a campsite with some friends but that didn't go down as it was too far in advance with regards to planning {January, ha ha} and now that I think of it, it was probably a good idea not to have planned anything as it is crazy busy around these parts. There is still so much to do with the apartment {*lots*} and I have so much catching up to do with school. So this weekend is going to be spent doing tunz of unpacking and cleaning!!! AGAIN!! But we plan on having it ALL done by next week. :)
Oh and then next Wednesday is my birthday! I turn 27! Wow, I am totes getting old. We do plan on going for a nice dinner so I am looking forward to that. I love going out for dindins.
Oh and I got my cast-iron skillet from Kev as a birthday present {THANK YOU KEVIN!!!} so I am soooo excited to use that this weekend as well. Making fritatta's and all that stuff. ;) I do want to try the cornbread recipe as well.
So that is pretty much it for my rambling right now. Just keeping you up to date as to the goings on of my life. Lol.

Here is an edit for you. :)

::don't:look:back::

What an insane last week or so. There has been so much going on, packing, unpacking, moving, cleaning, washing it has gone by so quickly and in such a blur.
There is still so much to do. This coming weekend will be spent unpacking and cleaning everything up. We still have a couple more heavy things that we need to move but we are almost completely out of the house.
I am honestly so in love with our new place. I just can't contain my sheer contentment waking up in the mornings and going to sleep at night in that place. One thing is for certain though, I will never move back into a basement again. Looking back I just don't know how I did it. Barely any light, always cool and dampish...this new place, the sun is streaming in and wakes you up in the mornings, it is just marvelous!
So you can imagine how happy I am...well, I will be happier once everything is completely out of the house as we have a couple more trips to go. But it is almost all done and over with. Thank goodness.

Anyways...I got a bit of a housewarming gift from my great friend Kev - the books on my wish list. :) All the fantastic cookbooks. I went through two of them yesterday {the other four are on their way} and they are unreal - in a good way of course.
I am going to definitely do some reviews on these books once things settle down. :)

Other then that let's do a little editorial and then a recipe a little later on.

::scatterbrained::

I am in my own personal la-la land right now.
There is so much going on that I am legitimately in a perma-brain fog right now.
It doesn't help either that I woke up in the middle of the night with a huge headache and didn't have a restful sleep.
We did some more moving last night and hope to get a lot more stuff done tonight as well. I still have a bit more packing...that's a lie, I have a lot more packing to do and I just really want everything to be done by the weekend.
My Dad is in town on business as well and he and my Sister are to come visit and help out tomorrow. Although I am not sure how much fun that would be for them but at least I get to see them. I just wish I had a bit more time to just hang out with them or go for dinner or something. There is time though.
Anyways...my post probably makes absolutely no sense.

::we:got:it!::

Holy hell am I feeling a little rough today. :/
ANYWAYS.

Big Big BIG news!

WE GOT THE APARTMENT!

You have no idea how FANTASTIC this feels!
Or maybe you do, lol.
For whatever reason we thought we would get beat out by the other people that were looking at the gorgeous suite.
But then I got the phone call and BAM!!
We're it!
We were on cloud 9 yesterday, that's for sure.

::nude:beauty::

I decided that I am no longer going to write about the housewives...it's just too...ugh, SAD. I mean, I am 26 and I don't have that much drama in my life. My gawd. BUT, I will still watch it. :P
I just can't handle the craziness that is Ronnie and Jody...they keep saying that Mary is nuts but at the end of the day what the hell was Ronnie going on about wolves and freakin' Gladiator in last night's episode?! I can't even deal.
So there ya have it, no more recaps from me, BUT, you can head over to The Huffington Post site and read all about it from Jesse Ferreras, if you didn't catch the drama yourself.

On another note...we applied for the apartment that we saw on the weekend and I really have my fingers crossed for us to get approved. There is another person that was looking at it. You never know, that person may be a better fit. The building does have a lot of older people living there and we are quite young. I just loved what I saw. I fell in love with it immediately and the knots in my stomach are insane. So just keep your fingers crossed for us.
I will be so sad if we don't happen to get it.
Everything about the place is perfect.

That is pretty much it on my end. Wow this blog gets boring sometimes, eh? Lol.

::little:lou:&:his:adventures::

Not exactly a big fan of socks ~ but he looks so presh!

I know it has been a while since I wrote last...and I have yet to watch the latest episode of RHOV and fill you in on the deets as to what went on. But that'll happen, don't worry. :P Tomorrow I have a day off from work to watch my little LouLou as he is going in for surgery this morning and I am worried ~ I know I shouldn't be, but I am a crazy dog lady, so just keep him in your thoughts. I will call the vet later on this aft and make sure everything is fine. Unfortunately I cannot take him the same day as much as I would love to. But I know that he is in good hands. <3 span="">

::rainy:tuesday::

Well, the long weekend has come to a close. *tear* Mind you there are more on their way but still. Lol. I always enjoy hanging out at my apartment with Travis and Lou'e and either doing nothing or just doing everything. I did get a lot of studying done this weekend which I am quite happy with, and I am almost done this Symptamology subject. It gets a bit tricky here and there but nothing I can't tackle.
So it's back to work, Tuesday, rainy, Game of Thrones comes out today!! WOOHOO!!! I am so excited. The second season I mean. I am so obsessed with this show it's not even funny.
I found out that there is even a Game of Thrones GAME. Pfff. This is insanity. Lol.
Anyways! Nothing much else to report to be quite honest. I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend and I feel some editorials are long overdue!

This editorial reminds me of Game of Thrones, naturally. :P

::poison:study::

So, I am on the last chapter of my book “Poison Study” by Maria V. Snyder and I am mildly infatuated with it. To the point where I have an urgency to read the second installment of this book and am beyond excited that they are going to be on their way soon (thanks Kev!). Honestly, I don’t want to say too much, as it may spoil it for anyone that plans on reading it but I highly recommend it.

When I had mentioned in a previous post that the beginning was a tad stagnant and that it lacked any structure I was wrongbecause everything came together halfway through the book and I finally understood.

You can't just read the first few chapters and think you have it figured out and I think the reason as to why I did that was because I was looking for something better than Divergent and Insurgentalthough this may not be better I mean they seem to be two totally different genres one dystopian and the other more medieval - I think it comes in close. I definitely hope for more than 3 books in the Study series by Snyder; that is for sure.

::savage:beauty::

Sorry I have been MIA the last few days. I am not feeling too hot as I got a cold...today I am feeling OK. But not great...I just have no energy and all I want to do is sleep. My throat is driving me crazy and sleep is non-existent because my nose is plugged all night and overall I feel like a bag of ass. Lol. Not fun. Especially when there is only a week before Christmas. I just gotta take it as easy as I can so that I don't get worse because I am notorious for pushing myself and then just being super-duper sick after that.
I have to also keep my anxiety in check, there are a lot of things that have been bothering me and that I am worried about. It could all be in my head...who know's...but things need to be figured out.
Also - the news that broke out last week of the shooting at Sandyhook Elementary is just devestating. Thoughts and prayers are with those all that have been affected.
And those little ones along with the adults rest in peace.

Anyways, I hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday!
My boss is off and going to brave the malls today, good luck Trish! Lol. :)

::monday:&:elise::

Well, as always the weekend has flown by. The only reason why I don't like this {well, whoever does?} is because my time with Lou'e and Travis are cut short. Travis is working cray-cray hours since it is the Winter season...so he doens't technically get off work until 3ish on Saturday's...and then the next couple hours are usually spent running errands and then boom, it is Sat night and time for bed...Sunday's are lazy days...but this weekend I cooked for pretty much all of it. I made cabbage rolls on Saturday {lots of work} and then yesterday I tried those Mushroom Goatcheese Purses...so...they turned out 'okay'. Now, if I had more patience than I am sure they would turn out amazing. But I also have NO space in my kitchen...so the phyllo dough wasn't entirely covered in butter and it was just all over the place. It was nice when Travis helped me with the goat cheese, as he never likes to help in the kitchen.
I just made them too big...and they annoyed me. Legit annoyed me! To the point where Travis had to tell me to shut up. He enjoyed them and they weren't BAD but next time {if there will be a next time with this recipe} I will have to put more effort and time into it.
PS. If anyone feels inclined to give me a gift I would really love a slap chop. Because I hate cutting onions!! Omg. My makeup was ALL over my face yesterday...it was sad. And such a waste!! So SLAP CHOP PLEASE!!! I had one...and it broke. :( Saddest day of life. Lol.
Anyways! Back to Monday! I seriously need to get a handle on my studying again since I have just been obsessed with Lou'e. So that is the plan for today/tonight. Same goes with healthy eating. My goodness I am going to be back at my heaviest if I don't get a handle on it either!
Anyways...I will be sharing some recipes today as well as editorials. Hope everyone is having a lovely MONday!! (MY-day)
And I am still waiting on that snow Mother Nature!!!
