::grilled:corn:&:potato:chowder::

I have finally dragged my butt out of bed and did a killer workout which kicked my ass. It was a lot of strength training with weights, stability ball and a stepper.
Lots of lunges and squats...I am sure I will be quite sore tomorrow but this is a good thing! I have come to the realization that I really don't like following videos or DVDs with someone showing you the exercises. I am completely content with my Women's Health Big Book of Exercises and choosing 15 exercises and pushing to my maximum effort.
I also made sure to write down all that it was I did and the amount of reps. I did definitely get to my failure point when lifting the weights which is a good thing as well.
I will look through my book and pick out some more exercises for tomorrows workout {if I'm not too sore} and spice it up every so often...than a few months from now I can go back and see if I can beat my own personal best or if I already did.
So this is my little workout / healthy living update. I also had a salad for lunch but I am still hungry {lots of lettuce and a can of tuna in oil ~ drained}. I am thinking of boiling some yellow wax beans as a snack. I love yellow wax beans.
Anyways...I promised another recipe - one that is hearty and delicious.
There are some ingredients on here that could be considered a little on the fatty side but the overall caloric count isn't that huge so I will give it a shot in the future.

Grilled Corn and Potato Chowder
Yield: 6 servings {serving size: 1 cup}
Total: 1 hour, 9 minutes
Nutritional Information: Calories - 268

Ingredients
1 pound small red potatoes, quartered
1 tablespoon salt, divided
3 tablespoons softened butter, divided
4 ears shucked corn
Cooking spray
3/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
3 cups 2% reduced-fat milk
1/2 cup half-and-half
2 thyme sprigs
3 tablespoons finely chopped chives
1-1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preparation
1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

2. Place a grill basket on grill.

3. Place potatoes and 2 teaspoons salt in a saucepan; cover with water. Bring to a boil; cook 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Let potatoes stand in hot water 5 minutes. Drainl cut into 1/4-inch cubes.

4. Melt 1 tablespoon butter; brush evenly over corn. Place corn on grill rack coated with cooking spray. Place potatoes in grill basket coated with cooking spray. Grill corn and potatoes 15 minutes or until slightly charred, turning occasionally. Cook corn slightly; cut kernels from cobs. Place 1 cup corn kernels in a food processor; process until smooth.

5. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion; saute 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add remaining 1 teaspoon salt and red pepper; cook for 30 seconds, stirring frequently. Stir in potatoes, remaining corn kernels, pureed corn, milk, half-and-half, and thyme sprigs; bring to a simmer. Reduce heat; simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Discard thyme sprigs. Stir in chives and remaining ingredients.

Sounds like this would fill the belly and keep it nice and warm. :)

::Christmas:Wish:List::

When I sat back and thought about what I wanted for Christmas a little while ago I couldn't figure a damn thing out...and than one day I went out window shopping and found a lot of stuff that I want and want now! Lol.
There really isn't going to be a lot of gift exchanging for me this year as I am broke but it's nice to dream and maybe one day I will pick one of these bad boys up once I find a job which I am sure will be soon. :)
What do you guys want for Christmas?
Here are a few things on my Christmas wish list...

About a year ago a friend of mine got me boxing gloves {pink ones to boot} and I had every intention of purchasing a punching bag but never did...I don't know why. So over the weekend I went to Canadian Tire and saw their punching bags as well as their stands on sale. Which is awesome...but not for me right now. Lol. Why couldn't it have been on sale a month ago!? Anyways...a punching bag is definitely at the top of my wish list. I think it would be a perfect workout and one that is not boring and blasts fat.

Of course you will need a stand for the punching bag...which is another thing that is on sale...this way you don't have to diddle-daddle with trying to get the punching bag screwed into the ceiling. A definite must if I were to get that punching bag.

I am surprised at how cheap some stationary bikes are. That would be a great addition to a home gym and you really don't need anything ridiculously fancy. There are some that go for $150.

This isn't a huge must or at the top of my list, probably because they are so damn expensive, but I would love to get my hands on a set of copic markers one day for my artwork.

Pretty much want anything remotely YMCMB this Christmas. Be it sweatpants, sweaters {with a hood} or shoes...and not ridiculously expensive either.

What girl doesn't want a spa day? And that means a full-on day at the spa with massage and all that jazz. That would be quite heavenly especially after the hectic month we'll have to the follow-up of Christmas getting everything ready and such. Ahhh...spa day.

Those are some of the things that are on my wish list. I could probably keep going with wanting perfumes...which is a good idea actually, there are some perfumes out there that I have been coveting lately.

Christmas is just over a month away!
Have you guys begun your Christmas shopping?

::victoria's:secret::

So the Victoria's Secret fashion show airs tonight and I wonder how many people are going to tune in, I have missed it the last few years but I might just watch it tonight.
I was on the style.com website and saw some images that Tommy Ton took of backstage...I must say, no offense, that the idea's for the "costumes" if you will, are pretty stupid this year and another disappointment is that the VS Angels are not at all curvy and are super thin once again...what happened to the curvy gorgeous girls!? I wonder if Gisele is in it this year...or if Heidi is going to host.
I guess we shall see tonight.
The fairy-esque stuff that I did see some of looked nice but you never know...
Most of the images that I picked for this post were ones that I didn't mind that much...there are some really "out-there" outfit ideas.
